In the Great Outdoors, No Other Vehicle is as Capable
Polaris loves to hear from its enthusiastic owners. Few people are as excited or enthusiastic about the Polaris RANGER line of recreational and utility vehicles than Roger McQueen of Ada, Michigan. After considering competitive models, his son-in-law told him he had to take a look at a Polaris. McQueen went to an area dealer that could only show him a picture and specs on paper, but that was enough for McQueen.
"You have to get one for me. I want one," McQueen told his dealer, Tom's Cycle, of St. Johns, Michigan. A few days later, McQueen was there to pick it up and he hauled it straight to his property in Virginia. He quickly made a claim that no other vehicle will come close to the riding and climbing ability of his RANGER. He told Polaris all about it.
"To see this thing in action, no one can believe it," he said.
Tobacco Mountain, among the tallest peaks east of the Rockies, is near the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is also the future home of McQueen, where he is in the process of building a new house. He spends time there to supervise the construction of his new home, explore his land, hunt and to just have fun. All with his RANGER.
"I have 187 acres on Tobacco Mountain," McQueen said. "This mountain is a mile high. It's a mountain goat! It does an excellent job. I don't think there is anything out there that compares. I just wanted Polaris to know that I am satisfied with this product and this 6x6 is unbelievable as a two-passenger, side-by-side vehicle."
McQueen used his RANGER during the recent hunting season each and every day. "Every day for 15 days the vehicle carried passengers and gear up the mountain," he said. "My brother-in-law's Jeep is scared of what this thing is capable of conquering.
"This thing will climb just about straight up," he said. "I put it through mud and water - past the top of the floorboards - and it just goes. It has plenty of power, and I haven't loaded the engine and stalled it. And with this land, this thing gets a workout."
McQueen had just one suggestion for us, however. He thinks it would be a great idea for Polaris to test future RANGER vehicles in his conditions. "I think you should come out and test these things here," he said. "I'm sure you haven't been in places like this! I take it all over my 187 acres, and I feel really fortunate to have this product to explore my beautiful, rugged terrain."
