Polaris Ranger Introduces Lock & Ride AND SpeedKey Technology

Pure Polaris Introduces Lock & RideTM Technology;

Proprietary System offers Versatility, Perfect Fit & Easy Installation

Minneapolis, Minn. - Pure Polaris today announced the introduction of Lock & RideTM, a new proprietary technology that provides consumers with an easy way to attach Pure-Polaris specific accessories to their ATV or RANGER? utility vehicles. The technology offers versatility, allowing riders to transform their recreational ATV for trail riding, hunting or snowplowing in minutes.

Lock & Ride is a series of industry leading technologies that enable accessories to be easily secured and guarantee a perfect fit. The highlight of the new system is Expanding Anchor Technology. The rider drops an expanding plug into the pre-drilled holes in the machine, and simply pushes the handle down to lock the accessory in place. Expert engineering and extensive testing means the perfect fit is rattle-free every time. Accessories such as the sprayer, cargo box and gun scabbard are just some of the Pure Polaris accessories that work with the exclusive expanding anchor technology system.

The Polaris Warn Winch is now much easier to install thanks to the wiring harness installed at the factory on every Sportsman ATV. Integrated color-coded wiring on the winch and on the machine provides an easy install and eliminates confusion. The proprietary system allows installation in less than half the time it previously required.

Polaris windshields feature a new clamp attachment that allows the rider to install or remove them in about 15-seconds. Riders simply position the windshield over the handlebars and clamp it into place. The versatility and dependability of Lock & Ride accessories will get riders onto the trails faster than ever before.

Ready for snow removal? The Glacier? Plow is the industry's easiest plow to install on Polaris ATVs and Rangers. Riders simply drive into the plow system, and it locks into place in 30-seconds. This year, Polaris introduces the "Razor?" blade, an angled plow that allows the user to move more material in less time.

"We responded to dealer and consumer feedback by creating an accessory line that quickly transforms a Polaris vehicle, such as a Sportsman or Ranger, into one that can be used for trail riding, hunting or snowplowing in seconds," said Ron Inman, product manager for Pure Polaris. "This is a key benefit for consumers and is only available from Polaris."

"We're constantly researching and testing technology and innovation that benefits consumers," said Pat Matthews, manager of accessories product development at Pure Polaris. "Lock & Ride is the best of its kind in the industry, and we're proud to offer such a useful, versatile and time-saving innovation."

Lock & Ride accessories will be available for all 2005 model year Polaris Sportsman ATVs and Ranger utility vehicles.

Pure Polaris Introduces New SpeedKey

RFID Technology Allows Owners to Control Speed; Only from Polaris
Minneapolis, Minn. - Pure Polaris today announced the introduction of SpeedKey, a new product device using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that provides owners and operators the ability to select the maximum vehicle speed on RANGER utility vehicles.

The SpeedKey speed benefits allow the RANGER vehicle owner to select the maximum speed based on which key is used. For example, when a black key is used, the RANGER has unrestricted vehicle speed. The yellow key has a maximum vehicle speed of 40 kmph. The SpeedKey allows the RANGER vehicle performance to go unchanged up to 40 kmph.

Here's how it works: Using RFID technology, the vehicle senses which key is being used in the ignition. When the RANGER vehicle detects a yellow key, the wheel speed is measured to determine the vehicle speed. If the RANGER vehicle speed reaches 40 kmph, a signal is sent to the carburetor to reduce air/fuel flowing, limiting its speed to 40 kmph.

"We're proud to be the first in the industry to offer owners an easy way to customize or control the speed of RANGER vehicles," said Ron Inman, product manager for Pure Polaris. "SpeedKey will be extremely valuable to commercial operators and municipalities that utilize our product. No other manufacturer offers this type of custom speed control."

SpeedKey technology will be available on Polaris RANGER 2005 models designed with a 500cc Fuji carburetor engine.
